The Review:

BOOK REVIEW

Dr. Anil Singhal is a well-known figure in the field of homeopathy, as an eminent teacher, prolific writer, eloquent orator, and popular clinician. In his masterpiece, “Boger’s Legacy & Augmenting the Synoptic Key’s Repertory”, he has documented his research outcomes of the study of Dr. CM Boger’s Synoptic Key, out of his dissertation of MD(Hom.) course, under the able guidance of the teacher of teachers, Dr. MP Arya, who was also my revered teacher.

Dr. Singhal has depicted the long journey of Dr. CM Boger, right from the early part of his life to the pinnacle of success in homeopathy. Being inspired by Boenninghausen’ Characteristics and Repertory, Dr. Boger wrote his Synoptic Key and presented to the profession for ready reference. But Dr. Singhal, after meticulous study of Boger’s Synoptic Key, found that all medicines incorporated in the second edition of Boenninghausen’s Characteristics and Repertory are not included in the subsequent  editions of the Synoptic Key. Such void motivated Dr. Singhal to address this challenge by adding the missing medicines in his book.

This book has succinctly presented Boger’s monumental work, in a sequential manner, critically analysing Boger’s contributions to homeopathy. Besides providing historical background, the book embodies the structural plan and philosophy of Dr. Boger’s monumental work.

While delving into different chapters of the book, the readers will be acquainted how, Dr. Boger, being influenced by Boenninghausen, made significant contributions to improve homeopathic literature. The book is a bridge connecting the past, present and future of Boger’s legacy. It will immensely inspire, enlighten, and motivate not only the novice practitioners of homeopathy, but also the experienced and seasoned healers.

Dr. Singhal was a faculty of Bakson Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Greater Noida (U.P.), when I was the Director-Professor of the same institution. I know him as a well-behaved, humble, and dedicated person, besides a very popular teacher.

I am confident, this book will profoundly benefit the teachers, students, researchers, and clinicians working in the domain of homeopathy.
